Four killed in road tragedies

THREE pensioners and a motorcylist have died in un-related tragedies on Scotland's roads.

An elderly female pedestrian died after being hit by a dark Vauxhall Vectra in Benhar Road in Shotts, North Lanarkshire, in the early hours of yesterday.

Pedestrian James McNabb, 77, died in hospital two days after a crash in East Whitburn, West Lothian. He was struck by a white Peugeot panel van at around 11.40pm on Saturday in the town's Main Street. Mr McNabb was being treated in Edinburgh Royal Infirmary but he died on Monday evening.
