However, public health consultant Dr Syed Ahmed, who is co-ordinating an investigation into the case, said the risk of the disease being passed on to others was low.
The alert was sparked after a 38-year-old man contracted Crimean-Congo Viral Haemorrhagic Fever (CCVHF).
