The impact of welfare reform on care providers and people needing care will be on the agenda at the conference of Coalition of Care and support Providers Scotland (CCPS) on Thursday.

Keith Dryburgh of Citizens Advice Scotland (CAS) will cover details of the new Universal Credit and Personal Independence Payment (PiP), anticipated changes to the Supported Housing system, as well as the Scottish Government's proposals for the devolved aspects of welfare reform, as part of a workshop at the two-day event.

CCPS represents more than 70 of the most substantial care and support providers in the third sector, working across the spectrum of social care.

The conference, which runs tomorrow and Thurday at Dunblane Hydro Hotel, will also discuss the future of public services in Scotland in the light of the Christie Commission.
