Lung transplant recipient Gill Hollis and artist Alec Finlay admire the newly created Scottish Memorial Garden.

Buried under its foundations of a dry-stane house with a turf roof, created by Mr Finlay, is a memorial book containing the first names of every organ and tissue donor from 2006 to 2013. It was opened at the Royal Botanic Gardens in Edinburgh yesterday by Public Health Minister Michael Matheson. The memorial honours those who saved or improved the lives of others through organ donations.
