OLYMPIC pin-up Jessica Ennis has given Glasgow 2014 organisers a huge boost after it emerged she will compete at the Glasgow Games.

The Sheffield-born gold medal-winning heptathlete is tipped as a possible contender for BBC Sports Personality of the Year and has been in demand since her heroics in London

Her trainer, Toni Minichiello, said: "Jessica will be at Glasgow 2014, definitely.

"That is absolutely the competition plan for us looking ahead. She has not won the Commonwealth title before. She was the bronze medallist in Melbourne in 2006 and didn't travel to Delhi two years ago. It will not be easy in Glasgow, either. There are Canadians and Australians who can step up to the mark so it will be good competition."
