Ty Speer, previously client services director of London's Olympic and Paralympic Games, has been appointed deputy chief executive of Glasgow 2014 and will take up his post in early November.
The Glasgow Games have a budget of £524 million, £100m of which the Organising Committee will raise in commercial revenues.
