‘Glasgow’s royal riot brings shame on Scotland’

POLICE have accused drunken hooligans of bringing shame on Scotland after a riot at a party in Kelvingrove Park overshadowed even the royal wedding on UK news.

At one point on Friday night, the mass brawl in Glasgow’s west end – which has resulted in 22 arrests – was trending as the most-read story on the BBC website.

Some of the 6000 revellers at the unofficial party descended into violence and left 11 police officers injured, with one hospitalised with head injuries.
