Goodwin is suffering in silence, says Sir Jackie

FRED Goodwin was "very disappointed" about being stripped of his knighthood and believes he has been made a scapegoat for the financial crisis, his close friend Sir Jackie Stewart has revealed.

Sir Jackie was reported as saying his friend, the former chief executive of Royal Bank Of Scotland, was "extremely disappointed at the behaviour of some people and frankly at the lack of their support".

Sir Jackie's comments came as it was revealed Mr Goodwin had resigned from the Queen's Silver Jubilee Trust last week.
