Government pledges £1m more for Burns museum

The Scottish Government announced yesterday it is to hand over an extra £1 million to complete a museum commemorating national poet Robert Burns.

Culture Minister Fiona Hyslop announced the £1.084 million package during a visit to the site of The Robert Burns Birthplace Museum in Alloway, South Ayrshire.

The museum is being rebuilt and is due to open on December 1.
