Graduate made to quit UK over low earnings

A GRADUATE who has lived in Scotland for 14 years is being forced to leave after falling foul of immigration rule changes.

Andrew Wilbur, originally from California, who has been married to 34-year-old Scot Laura Francescangeli for six years, does not meet Government criteria as their combined income does not reach £18,600. Mr Wilbur, who has a PhD in human geography from Glasgow University, has booked flights for himself and his wife ahead of his student visa expiring.
