BACKING: Andy Murray's grandparents Shirley and Roy Erskine, below, led the praise in Dunblane where local children and businesses also got behind the star.

"There were a lot of sacrifices made for Andy," Mrs Erskine revealed at her home in Dunblane. "Judith spent a long time driving Andy and Jamie round the country. And there were a really difficult couple of years before funding kicked in. And that meant the family had to help. The appeal went out to everyone, to uncles, to cousins, and thankfully they all chipped in. And today we can see the result."
