Harmful algae is spotted in loch

HOLIDAYMAKERS at one of Scotland's most popular beauty spots have been warned of a harmful bacteria lurking in the water.

Blue-green algae, which can kill animals and cause rashes and vomiting in humans, was spotted last night on the eastern edge of Loch Lomond.

As thousands of tourists set off for Easter days out to the Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park, council workers were putting up signs warning them of the risk.
