THE woman who runs one of Scotland's busiest airports has been presented with an OBE by the Queen at Buckingham Palace.

Amanda McMillan, the managing director of Glasgow Airport, was named as a recipient in the Birthday Honours list for services to business and tourism.

Since her appointment in 2008, the airport has grown passenger numbers and secured new routes and services despite an economic downturn. Ms McMillan has also been closely involved in the promotion of the Scottish city as a tourist destination.
