POLICE are appealing for information after a "highly dangerous" bow and arrows were stolen from a car.

The competition-grade bow was stolen from a vehicle parked in Caithness Place in Kirkcaldy at some point between 10pm on Friday and 10am on Saturday.

The compound PSE Supra Pro Series bow, an Eastern quiver containing approximately 20 arrows and a waterproof desert camouflage jacket were all taken.

Police Constable John Weir from the Kirkcaldy Community Wards Policing Team said: "This is a professional competition bow, which is very powerful and has amour piercing capability.

"Whoever has it may not know how powerful it is.

"The owner is a member of Archery Clubs, which have safety protocols in place for its use. It is highly dangerous and must be handled by an expert.

"We are very concerned about the whereabouts of this bow and are appealing for its quick return."

The bow is black and red with a single cam at the bottom and a telescopic sight part attached. The arrows are about 28 inches in length and can reach a speed of 300 feet per second.

The owner has offered a £100 reward for the return of the items.

Anyone with information is asked to call Police Scotland on 101 or contact officers anonymously through Crime stoppers on 0800 555 111.
