Hitting the high notes

Davur Juul Magnussen from The Royal Scottish National Orchestra (RSNO) is used to performing at more conventional venues than the tarmac of Glasgow Airport.

But yesterday, Mr Magnussen pitched up to play the trombone in front of a holiday jet to relieve the boredom of waiting passengers.

Conductor Douglas Boyd led 70 musicians – including Mr Magnussen – in the departures lounge. It was the culmination of the airport's six-week Best of Scotland campaign, which has celebrated the best of Scottish food, drink, culture and entertainment.
