Hogmanay celebrations

ROSIE McNaught and Rosie Banks, both 10, join piper Hollie Feeney, 14, on the ice at George Square as Glasgow prepares to host its own Hogmanay celebrations with a day of family events.

Bagpipers, drummers and dancers will perform during the city's Hogmanayday between 12pm and 10pm on December 31.

The free event at George Square includes a giant ceilidh and various stalls which will be selling Scottish produce.

There will also be acts from Commonwealth countries to mark Glasgow's hosting of the 2014 Games.
