COUNCILLORS are meeting tomorrow to discuss whether to approve a £500 million development that would see more than 3000 homes built in South Lanarkshire.

The Owenstown project has been earmarked for 400 acres of land in the Douglas Valley area. The town would be owned and managed on a co-operative basis by residents with surplus funds reinvested in the community. Councillors are recommending the project's refusal, but Hometown Foundation, which is behind the plans, said it would appeal if this happened.
