Human remains found in Fife could be missing woman

Human remains found in Fife could be those of a woman missing since January, police have said.

The family of 56-year-old Susan Reid, from Newport on Tay, have been informed of yesterday's discovery at Tentsmuir Forest.

Formal identification has yet to take place.

Chief Inspector Adrian Annandale said: "Investigations continue into the circumstances surrounding the find at Tentsmuir and we have informed Susan's family of the discovery.

"Specially trained family liaison officers continue to work closely with the family, as they have been throughout the missing person inquiry."
