Administrators PwC are winding down WR Refrigeration Limited, which has experienced "difficult trading" in recent months.
A total of 21 of the 58 staff based in WR's service centre in East Kilbride, South Lanarkshire, were made redundant yesterday.
Thirty one of them will transfer to Integral, which provides property maintenance services and has bought a number of WR's major contracts. The remaining six will remain, in the interim, to assist the administrators, who were called in on October 22.
WR, which provided refrigeration and air conditioning solutions, service and maintenance, employed 600 people across the UK, operating from Belfast, Cardiff, Leeds, Spalding and East Kilbride.
A total of 232 WR staff were made redundant yesterday while 249 workers will transfer to Integral.
The remaining 119 staff will remain in the interim to assist the administrators.
Eddie Williams, PwC joint administrator, said: "Unfortunately the level of interest and support for the remaining business means that we have no alternative than to begin the wind-down of the company. We have retained 119 employees to assist us and we will continue to explore options to support the transfer of people to other service providers.
"I would like to thank all employees for their co-operation since our appointment and we will look to support them at this difficult time."
