Hunt for young headline writers

A SEARCH has been launched to find the next generation of Scottish headline writers.

The Herald and The Daily What News, a current affairs website for nine to 16-year-olds, are launching a headline writing competition.

Scottish pupils will be invited to submit entries and the best one – picked by Jonathan Russell, editor in-chief of the Herald and Times – will be published in The Herald and online. The winning writer will get a Kindle, courtesy of this newspaper. Deadline for entries is midnight on Sunday, October 21.
