Academics from Glasgow University will assess whether the unprecedented levels of capital investment in Glasgow's east end will make any difference to their lives and wellbeing and if they increase participation in sporting activity.
Interviews are already under way with residents in Bridgeton, Calton, Camlachie, Dalmarnock, Gallowgate and Parkhead, questioning them on health, activities and where and how they are involved with 2014. The first results will be published later this year, with the follow-ons immediately after the Games and in 2016. The findings will also be compared with similar studies which have been under way since 2005.
