The banking crisis and the concomitant collapse of the economy has led to stiff competition for the disposable euro.
The waiter has more or less dragged me into the premises to have, entirely free, two pintxos – tapas on a stick – and a glass of excellent Galician brown beer. The pintxos are delicious and I could have gone on my merry way. But not being a free-loading cheapskate, I stay and buy four more tapas and a couple of glasses of wine.
