THE writer and journalist Julie Burchill has paid tribute to her younger son Jack after revealing he had taken his own life.

Burchill said that Jack Landsman, 29, was "at peace now" and "in pain no longer", suggesting he had suffered difficulties at the end of his life.

Jack Landesman, who was born in 1986, was the son of Burchill and her second husband, Cosmo Landesman.

In a post on facebook, Burchill said: "My beloved son Jack killed himself earlier this week. He is at peace now and in pain no longer and of course I don;t believe that life ends with death, so I am lucky.

"Look after the people you love, as I tried to do and failed. Thank you for all your good wishes and support, but I have my dan, who was a wonderful stepfather to my poor boy for more than half his life."

Jack Landesman studied at the Brighton Institute of Modern Music and played bass guitar in the Simon Lawrence band.
