THE Duchess of Cambridge kept up her trend of showing off the best of British designers as she attended a fundraising dinner for St Andrews University.

The royal dazzled guests with a floor-length black dress by London-born Alice Temperley, which she had previously worn to the premiere of the movie War Horse.

With the Duke, whom she met while studying at the Fife university which is celebrating its 600th anniversary, the couple were introduced to some of the current crop of students, staff and alumni of the university by Chancellor Sir Menzies Campbell MP.

The appeal aims to provide financial support for able students who would not otherwise be able to study at St Andrews.

The couple arrived to the sound of bagpipes at Middle Temple, an ancient Inns of Court, in London.
