Kirk may sell 1,500 buildings

As many as half of the Church of Scotland’s 3,000 buildings could be sold as the Kirk faces a new future of merged parishes and dwindling funds.

The Church announced yesterday it is to hold a ground-breaking review of all its properties. While individual buildings have been sold over the years, it is the first time the Kirk has had a formal plan for selling unsustainable properties.
