Library book given back 63 years late

A book borrowed from a library 63 years ago has been returned during a fines amnesty.

Staff at Rugby Library in Warwickshire were handed the copy of The Adventures of Pinocchio - due to be returned on New Year's Eve in 1950. Had the book been returned after the amnesty, the user would have faced an 18p per day penalty, but the council caps fines at £5.22.
