Life of maverick medic to hit the big screen

THE life of one of the most controversial figures in Scottish medical history is to be made into a film.

The story of RD Laing, the radical psychiatrist who championed LSD and wrote The Divided Self, will be produced for the big screen by the Ettinger Brothers who are looking for £3.5 million to complete the budget. The script is penned by Glasgow screenwriter Tony MacDonald and is based on the 1994 biography by Laing's son Adrian who said: "This film has been a long time coming."
