Lost chances to save baby Declan's life

POLITICIANS have called for an inquiry into Scotland's child protection system after a damning report into the help offered to a child who was murdered by his mother.

Declan Hainey's mummified body was found in his cot at his home in Paisley, Renfrewshire, in March 2010 – eight months after he was last seen alive. His mother, Kimberley Hainey, 37, has been jailed for a minimum of 15 years for his murder.
