Lothian crash victim named

Police have named a 41-year-old driver killed in a road crash three days ago.

John Higgins died in an accident on the A71 road between Polbeth and West Calder, West Lothian, on Thursday evening.

Three vehicles were involved and the driver of the Silver Vauxhall Vectra died at the scene.

In a statement released through police, Mr Higgins' family said: "John Higgins was a devoted father, loving son, brother, nephew and wonderful uncle.

"He will be dearly missed by all his family and the rest of the West Calder and Polbeth community."

Inquiries are continuing into the accident and police have asked any witnesses to contact them on 101.
