Thousands of loyalists from all over the UK are taking part in a march in Glasgow.

The streets were lined with hundreds supporters and traffic ground to a halt as the parade left the city's Glasgow Green at noon.

The procession involved an estimated 4500 members of the Apprentice Boys of Derry and more than 50 bands.

There was a heavy police presence around the march.

Ahead of the parade - one of the biggest of its kind in the city - Chief Inspector Mark Sutherland warned violence and anti-social behaviour from an "unwelcome minority" who use the event as an excuse to drink alcohol would not be tolerated.
