M&S chief warned on price of future failure

THE chief executive of Marks & Spencer has been warned he only has months to turn the retailer around in the wake of struggling non-food sales.

Investor David Cumming, head of equities at Standard Life Investments, said retail boss Marc Bolland would come under a "lot of pressure" if the M&S autumn fashion range was not popular. The high-street giant has been struggling with its non-food sales, and Mr Cumming believes M&S could be vulnerable to a takeover.
