Makar Morgan, brightest star in our sky

Tributes have been paid to the “genius” of Edwin Morgan, Scotland’s national poet, who died yesterday, aged 90.

The poet, translator, playwright and teacher, who was diagnosed with cancer 10 years ago, died at his care home in Glasgow -- the city where he was born and raised, and which he immortalised in so many of his poems.
