Man arrested in Barrhead hit and run inquiry

A man has been arrested in connection with a hit-and-run incident in which four people were injured.

A 41-year-old woman and three men, aged 48, 39 and 29, were taken to hospital following the incident in Crossmill Avenue in Barrhead, East Renfrewshire, on Saturday evening.

The 39-year-old had serious injuries while the other three were released after treatment.

A 38-year-old man has been arrested in connection with an attempted murder, police said.

He is expected to appear at Paisley Sheriff Court later today.
