Man arrested over series of alleged sex attacks on women

A man has been arrested in connection with a series of alleged indecent assaults on women.

Three of the incidents happened over a two-week period when three young women were allegedly followed into different blocks of flats in the west end of Glasgow and then attacked.

The first incident took place on January 24 when a 23-year-old woman was followed along Great Western Road into a common close.

One week later on January 31, a 19-year-old woman was followed into the close of a block of flats on Arlington Street. Then three days later, a 20-year-old woman was followed into flats in Kersland Street and allegedly assaulted.

Strathclyde Police said a 36-year-old man has been arrested over the incidents and another alleged indecent assault at St Enoch subway station in Glasgow city centre on February 21.

He will appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Monday.
