A pedestrian who suffered serious head injuries after being hit by a car has died in hospital.

Robert Wotherspoon, 54, was struck by a Peugeot 107 at Balmoral Street in Glasgow on Sunday afternoon.

Mr Wotherspoon, from the Partick area, was taken by ambulance to the city's Southern General Hospital, where he died yesterday morning.

Police Scotland said his relatives are aware and that a report will be sent to the procurator fiscal.

The collision happened at around 1.10pm near the Dumbarton Road junction.

Constable John O'Hara, of the road policing department, has re-appealed for any witnesses to the incident to get in touch.
