A MAN has appeared in court accused of raping two women in the space of six weeks.

David Ditchburn, 40, of Dundee, is alleged to have carried out the first attack at an address in the city on February 5.

He is said to have grabbed the woman by her throat and is then accused of going on to rape her before punching her on the head, causing her to fall down stairs to her injury.

The second attack is alleged to have happened at an address in the city on March 16.

There he is accused of striking another woman on the face, placing his hands around her throat, causing her to lose consciousness and raping her.

Mr Ditchburn made no plea at Dundee Sheriff Court and he was remanded in custody.
