Man killed in road accident named
A man who died after being hit by a vehicle on New Year's Day has been identified by police.
Gary Grant, 41, was struck on the A90 Fraserburgh to Peterhead Road at Lonmay, Aberdeenshire, at about 8pm on Wednesday.
Mr Grant, from the Fraserburgh area, died at the scene of the single-vehicle collision.
Police Scotland appealed for information from witnesses who may have seen a pedestrian in the area around the time of the crash.
The driver stopped at the scene.
