Death of a tyrant

JUBILANT Libyans last night celebrated their freedom from Muammar Gaddafi after more than 40 years of bloody dictatorship.

Many inside the country had not dared to believe he was finally dead until graphic and gruesome images of his body being dragged through the streets, initially alive, were broadcast.

He was killed as he attempted to flee Sirte, his birthplace and the site of his last stand.
