CELEBRITY chef Marco Pierre White is blazing a culinary trail into Glasgow with the launch of his first restaurant in the city.

The TV chef, famed for his no-nonsense approach and Michelin-star food, has confirmed he will open a restaurant at Hotel Indigo Glasgow late next month.

Marco Pierre White Steakhouse Bar & Grill will be situated on the ground floor of the hotel on Waterloo Street and will offer the chef's own brand of "affordable glamour".

He said the restaurant would also cater for different budgets. He said: "It's been a long time in the planning, but I'm absolutely delighted to open my first city centre restaurant in Glasgow - a city that I love.

"Glasgow has a vibrant dining scene and I look forward to offering Glaswegians a taste of something a little bit different; my recipe for 'affordable glamour' which is all about serving quality food at affordable prices. It isn't about Michelin standard food, which for most is experienced as a one-off or for a very special occasion."
