Marr recovering well after stroke

BROADCASTER Andrew Marr was said to be responding well to treatment last night as he continued to recover in hospital after suffering a stroke.

The BBC said Marr, who presents current affairs programme The Andrew Marr Show, was conscious, "responding to medication" and making progress.

The 53-year-old Glasgow-born journalist and television presenter was taken ill on Tuesday and rushed to hospital.
