Celtic Football Club are funding the placement in honour of Paul McBride, QC, who died while on a trip to Pakistan in March this year.
The placement will allow a student from a deserving background to study on the UK's first Master's degree in Advocacy at Strathclyde University's Law School. Mr McBride was a graduate of the university and had planned to return to teach on the new course.
