SUN worshippers enjoyed one of the best days of the summer as they flocked to the country's parks to soak up the rays yesterday.

Cheryl Burns, from Partick, Glasgow, was with her Chihuahua, Roxy, in Kelvingrove Park in the West End, which was busy as people enjoyed al fresco lunches or took a day off work. The thermostat soared in the city to around 22°C, with the mercury due to rise to 23°C today. Edinburgh had similar temperatures, but is due to be slightly cooler today, at around 18°C, as cloud creeps in from the coast.
