Missing pensioner's body found on beach

A body found on a beach has been identified as that of an elderly man reported missing.

Members of the coastguard found the body of Thomas Semple, 85, in the Temple area of Lower Largo, Fife at around 4am on Friday December 27.

Mr Semple, from Lundin Links in Fife, was last seen leaving his home at around 3.30pm on Boxing Day.

Police Scotland said there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death and that a report will be sent to the procurator fiscal.
