MoD sorry for keeping body parts of troops

THE Ministry of Defence has said it is deeply sorry after it emerged the body parts and tissue of 30 soldiers killed in Afghanistan were kept without the permission of their families.

Urgent attempts are now being made to identify which soldiers the samples were drawn from.

About six body parts and more than 50 tissue samples were reportedly retained by the Royal Military Police (RMP) without relatives of the servicemen being notified.
