Moratorium call over wind farm projects

FIFTY community councils have called for a moratorium on planning consent for wind farm developments in one of Scotland's most picturesque areas.

The councils from across Dumfries and Galloway have made the demand to First Minister Alex Salmond saying that they have been "overwhelmed" by the number already built. The councils have called for extra time and resources to assess the benefits of the large number of planned wind farms.
