Mother in vigil after dog savages toddler

A MOTHER whose infant daughter was savaged by a family dog was last night keeping vigil by the girl's hospital bedside.

Jamielee Bennett, 21, was at Glasgow's Sick Kids Hospital at Yorkhill with 18-month-old Millie McCue.

Millie, who was savaged so badly she needed emergency surgery, was attacked by her grandfather's Staffordshire bull terrier.

The attack happened just before midnight on Friday at a flat in Possil. Two dogs of the same breed owned by Jamielee's father, Joe Bennett, have been seized by police and an investigation is under way.
