Motorcyclist dies in Aberdeenshire crash

A man has died after his motorbike was in a crash with a car.

The collision happened on the A98 Banff to Portsoy road in Aberdeenshire, near Auchmore Farm, at 7.30pm last night.

Police Scotland said the 34-year-old man riding a grey Triumph Street Triple motorcycle died as a result of the crash. He will not be named until his next of kin have been told.

The woman who was driving the white Mitsubishi ASX involved in the incident was uninjured.

The road was closed for more than five hours for a road traffic collision investigation to take place.

Officers are appealing for any witnesses to contact them on 101.
