Motorcyclist killed in fatal crash

A motorcyclist has died in a crash in Edinburgh.

The 21-year-old came off his Yamaha bike in Silverknowes Road in the north west of the city last night.

Police said the rider, who was wearing protective clothing and a helmet, died at the scene of the accident at around 10.15pm.

Sergeant Ross Drummond from Edinburgh's road policing unit said: "I wish to appeal to any person who was at or near the location at the time and who may have information that could assist us with our enquiries to contact police as soon as possible on 101."
