Moves to tighten security contracts for 2014 Games

Police and politicians are working together to tighten the contracts run by security firms in the wake of a firebomb attack at the site of the Commonwealth Games athletes’ village in Glasgow.

The £300m development was targeted a day after an approved security firm started guarding the area.

A digger was destroyed in the attack.

Milne Management security, which won the contract, is approved by the Security Industry Authority.
