Much ado for movie fans

DIRECTOR Joss Whedon was all smiles as he attended the sold-out premiere of his latest film, Much Ado About Nothing, at the Glasgow Film Theatre.

The film was screened last night at the closing gala of the ninth Glasgow Film Festival, followed by a Q&A session with the filmmaker.

Whedon has revamped the Shakespeare comedy as a modern-day farce filmed in black and white over 12 days at his home in Santa Monica, California. The festival, which kicked off on Valentine's Day, has seen the city's St Enoch Subway station transformed into a cinema, and a screening of Jaws on Glasgow's Tall Ship, the Glenlee.
